In March, film music takes center stage—though in a truly special style. On this occasion, some of the greatest film scores will be performed by the band Swing à la Django. Swing à la Django is one of the best-known and most innovative Hungarian pop-swing ensembles. Its members have created a unique fusion of styles: their sound blends pop music, authentic Hungarian folk, French manouche swing and chanson, Argentine bossa nova, and jazz—something they call Hungarian Django Swing. Alongside their outstanding instrumental skills, they are rich in creativity. Classical pieces, film scores, hits, and timeless evergreens all coexist effortlessly in their repertoire. In their concerts, they return to their roots: following in the footsteps of their greatest inspiration, Django Reinhardt, the Belgian-born, genre-defining gypsy jazz guitarist, they evoke the atmosphere of the 1930s and 1940s. In recent years, their songs have reached millions of listeners on Hungarian radio stations and music streaming platforms. For this concert, they are traveling especially for the audience of Nagykanizsa.
Take the opportunity—don’t just listen to them on Spotify!
