Not only was Saint-Saëns an enthusiastic fan of ballet who once even danced the choreography of Galatea and Pygmalion with Tchaikovsky, but he was also a great admirer of Ferenc Liszt. He regarded the Hungarian composer, whose work had a great influence on the French composer, as a role model and a beloved paternal friend. On the 4th of March, in Nyíregyháza, the symphony “Organ” in 3rd C minor, with a special structure and orchestration, will be performed by the Liszt Prize-winning organist Szabolcs Szamosi. It was composed to commemorate Liszt.
