As in the 2024/2025 season, next year, the Organs’ Night - a vibrant celebration - will once again mark the fi nale of the Unikum concert series by Filharmonia Hungary. On this special evening, something extraordinary will be heard through the voice of the “queen of instruments,” the organ of the Liszt Academy. The concert will feature not one but two organ concertos, both composed by Hungarian composers of the 20th and 21st centuries. Frigyes Hidas considered himself the last Hungarian Romantic composer whose creative thinking remained fi rmly rooted in rhythm, harmony, and melody supremacy. His organ concerto opens the evening - a piece that took a rather adventurous path before fi nally being introduced to the public by Xavér Varnus. The other featured composer of the evening is Rezső Ott, whose youthful, humorous, and relatable musical voice is becoming increasingly well known. His organ concerto is a true novelty, making this concert a perfect choice for lovers of romantic melodies and those who enjoy humour and surprises.
