WHEN THE VOICE ITSELF IS MAGIC
If asked to identify Italy's most significant contribution to musical history, the answer is undoubtedly opera. This genre became dominant among Italian composers and remained unrivaled in musical theater across languages for centuries. It also sparked bel canto, meaning 'beautiful singing,' which continues to set standards for classical vocal technique and ideals. Italian music remains closely linked to the human voice, much as Italian cuisine is popular worldwide. Tonight's performance features exclusively Italian music, showcasing works by renowned Italian Romantic composers, performed by Kossuth Prize-winner Klára Kolonits and her younger colleague Szilveszter Szélpál. Audiences can expect memorable melodies, profound emotion, and expressive artistry, with Hungary’s largest orchestra, the Szeged Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Dániel Dinyés.
We are not inviting you for just one evening: the concert itself is only the beginning of the experience—the unforgettable melodies will surely brighten your days long after.
